I don't have a issue with single mum's however someone I know single mum 2 children has moved into a £390,0000 apartment at £900 per commencing month rent all paid off by the goverment. Even though she is a single mum she is moving her boyfriend in while he rents out his house. I pay a fortune in tax and she has just breeded 2 ADHD kids and live in a penthouse! I know someone who is a neighbour in a good area of a single mum who has parties are so on her house is a tip and she has not even got blinds to hid how she has wreck the once lovely house, I think this is not fair on the home owners, I am a snob?
Is it right single mum's get such great flats?
not at all. to many people take advantage of the situation and unless someine reports the abuse, we keep paying to have them live better than we do.
Reply:I know the benefits system is screwed up...you get paid silly money for sitting on your bum %26amp; having kids, yet if you work you get sweet fa.
I dont have an issue with genuine homeless parents - I think you've got to help them with homes for the childrens sake.
But if what you're saying is right %26amp; the local council are footing a bill of £900 p/month rent thats wrong...whats wrong with giving her a cheap council flat %26amp; saving tax-payers money. Id love to have a place worth that much but will never be able to afford it %26amp; I worked most of my life.
If she is moving her boyfriend in %26amp; is claiming benefits then its blatant benefit fraud %26amp; she should be reported for it. Its because of people defrauding the benefits system that pensioners get so little.
If someone decides to have parties in their own house thats upto them - its got nothing to do with you...likewise how they furnish the house...so what if they havent got blinds up.
Perhaps you should stop being so nosey %26amp; looking through the window at the condition of her house.
%26amp; yes you are a snob
Reply:hey why not when all the immigrants that are coming in to this country get every thing on a plate and your moaning about single parents in this country i read in the paper the other day that homeless Somalis are gonna get special help hello what about our homeless people
Reply:Its this simple everyone needs somewhere to live the fact that society seems to regard infirmity as a vehicle for a more luxurious dwelling is by definituion a paradox in nature, while the following view maybe contraversial it is nonetheless a valid argument that in the rest of the animal kingdom such infirmity is dealt with by swift removal, but thats just another example of what separates us from the beasts,
Another perception in todays society that really pisses me off is this, that if you dont have kids you are missing out on something fantastic and that you are subhuman in societies eyes, my view is this whats the big deal about having kids, its not as though the process of conception is a great feat of humanity after all the method is very simple, and yes they carried the chld for nine months but I say big whoopee after all it was there choice to have the child then it is up to them to pay for and look after it, why the hell should hard working single people like myself pay for there childrens upbringing, they had the bloody kid but I pay more tax then they do just because I am single the system sucks
Reply:no
Reply:The benefits system is very badly run. One person can claim a fortune while another in the same situation will be lucky to get the things they need to stave off death.
I have heard of pensioners having to take out loans to pay for operations and deantal treatments while a convicted thief gets designer trainers for their prison gym. It's just all so inefficent with one hand not knowing what the other is doing and no real base line is set for fairness to be based upon.
Reply:I don't know how it is where you live but here in the United States we face some of the same problems. I do not believe you are a snob but there may be another side to this issue that you may not be seeing. I am a disabled person who worked hard all my life until a crippling disease took my ability to work. So now I too have to receive benefits that without, would otherwise leave me on the streets or dead. I was a struggling mom before that who raised her son to the best of my ability. I received help from my government and used it to get myself an education. I am not trying to brag. I am just fortunate to have been raised by a great set of parents who instilled values. Others are not so fortunate. Instead of being so angry have you thought that maybe you could help this woman see that she has been given a great opportunity and that to waste it would be the greatest sin of all? The one problem I did have with your question was the attack on her children. No matter how you dis-agree with her actions, to attack a child is without concious. I am sure you did not mean any harm and only spoke out of anger...
Reply:The UK Benefits system is messed up, its not fair, the justice system is messed up too
Reply:When I was young and my mum and me were living off of benefits under the Tories after my father died, I remember digging around drawers and sofas for pennies so my mum could buy a loaf of bread; we also lived in a tiny, hideous one-bedroom council flat: do I think I deserved more handouts? No! Character building it was!
I'm now 24, work full-time and I go to university. 30% of the people living in my area are now living off of government benefits (according to the 2001 census) and it seems many can afford 'goodies' that I can't afford on my full-time wage. It's terrible. I've had the experience of growing up on government handouts and you're certainly no snob: they're getting far too much today.
Reply:YES. Is it "right" that single moms are typically single moms because the MEN in this world are no-good-dead-beat-baby-makers who leave a mother and child to fend for themselves?? Why should all the single guys get the good deals? So they can just use the flats to get another woman pregnant and dump her, too? Best off to mind your own business and wait for your own wave.
Reply:You should report her to the social services.
And no you are not a snob.
People who break the law by taking advantage of the social system are no better than thieves and muggers.
Reply:Does seem unfair, but many other people on benefits find life hard.
Reply:Thats not right for that woman to do that...why not drop a dime and report her for Fraud?
Reply:I don't know if you're a snob, but that pisses me off as well. I rent as I can't get a mortgage [I don't make enough money according to my bank], and I know a few couples [not married] getting benefits of all sorts and living a great life. There should be more of a control by the council that gives those benefits !!!
Reply:I totally agree, it's not right at all. I know someone who is a dirty little wh**e and sleeps around with different people and she has two children and got a three bedroom house wih everything inside it and when i went to apply for a house they told me i'd be waiting at least a year. The thing that bothers me is i would have been paying rent and she doesn't pay a penny. OK, tantrum over!!!!
