All single moms....?

SINGLE MOMS ONLY!!! ok so i ask my sis to watch my kids every once in awhile so i can go on date with guy i have been seeing now for 6 months...and she says i am a single mom and i should be home with my kids.. and i only ask her cos i can not afford to pay a babysitter..


As a single mother how often do u date? How often do u just go out and chill? i do not feel bad leavin my kids for a nite here and there cos the happier i am the happier my kids are!!


before i met this guy i was stressed and sooo very sad all the time cos i just moved to new city so it has been wonderful with him...


am i a bad mother for wanting to be happy?


should i stop dating?

I would not say to stop dating him. But maybe it is time to include your kids with him also. I am not saying all the time you do need just you and him time also, but 6 months should be enough time for him to know your kids.
Reply:no deff. not. i am in the same boat i have one lady who will watch my son for me..and now my mother( who WONT watch my son) says i am an irresponsible mother. but no..we hav the right to enjoy ourselfs as well..even if we weren't single mothers, couples still get time for themselfs..its the same thing! we deserve it! more if nething, we do everything OURSELFS..so we need a nite for ourselfs..and i completely understand not wantin to take the kid with you..n meeting him..i belive thats more irresponsible then leaving him with ur sister.! keep doin what you do and you dont hav to feel guilty u have nothin to feel guilty about..you do the best you can and u deserve to have fun n relax for one nite! keep ya head up!
Reply:GIRL I GO OUT EVERY SATURDAY HAVENT MISSED ONE SINCE 3 MONTHS AGO AND I DIDNT GO OUT CAUSE I WENT OUT OF TOWN. DONT FEEL BAD. I DONT, I KNOW MY KIDS ARE WELL TAKEN CARE OF WITH MY MOM OR MY SISTERS. YOU HAVE ALL THE RIGHT TO GO OUT ON A DATE OR JUST CHILL WITH FRIENDS AND YOUR NOT A BAD MOTHER.

Reply:your not a bad mother for 2 1/2 years i was single with 3 kids it isn't easy try to give your sis a weeks notice so she doesn't have plans .explan to her your just trying to fill the void in your life so it's whole and not half anymore .you love and care for your kids alot i can tell cuz i know alot of people who don't care who watches there kids while they go out .try to go out and not stay out all night ,leave a little later so the kids are almost ready for bed ,just remember we are the only responsible people in their lives and were not going anywhere .i use to go out every other week end only on saturday .your also right about not bringing your new guy friends around the kids cuz it will confuse them .your doing fine . keep up the good work

you should date you should be happy and give your sister a little cash and she'll probably shut up





i go out and i have to pay my sister... i'm only working part time and i have a house and two kids to support so by no means to i have money to spend on a babysitter but it might get her to stop critisizing you





i went out 2 times in january


i dont feel bad about it


i need the break and my kids are sleeping so its not like we are missing time together.





i think its ok for you to go out... just dont go out all the time and dont let your kids get attached to anyone you are dating until its a serious.





I'm not dating currently because i'd like to save my sanity.
Reply:Most def. NOT!!! You have a right to be happy. And you should still go out on dates. Kids are renters, we raise them to grow up and live their own lives. See if you can barter with someone...say you watch my kids for a night and I will watch yours for a night. Your sister sounds like she is unhappy, and she doesn't want you to be happy. Once in a while is fine, the kids will survive and be happier if they know mama is happy!!!!
