Young single mum or older single mum?

why do some people think young single mums can't cope aswell as older single mums?

Young single mum or older single mum?
its hard being a mum young or old single or married
Reply:i have never heard that but i dont believe that to be true, i believe whether in your 20's or 30's as single mom (0r 40's 50's or even as a single teenage parent),you will and can cope with the things being a single parent can present to you, its always good to have a good support system whether family, friends, local good church, be positive , pray and ask God for strength and wisdom, and no matter your age as a single mum, you will be just fine and cope with life as a single parent in the most positive way you can!! :) its not always easy but life is not always easy even with joint parents , so i dont know why some people would think young single mums can not cope as well , but i dont buy that for a moment , :) ;)
Reply:I think it's just because most people think young mum's are maybe less mature and therefore older mums do it better. but i personally think it's different in every case.

I had my first child at 25 now just turned 30 and have my second. but being 30 doesn't mean i cope better than someone younger. I am married though i do it on my own because my husband work's away. i take my hat off to any woman who raises her children especially doing it alone older or younger.
Reply:im a single mum 28 to 6 children ages 10,8,6,4,2, and 1 also training to be a midwife i manage very well and find i cope well to.so us young mums do and can manage aswell as older women probley better as we have more energy.xx
Reply:Because people are good at assuming things based on what they think. Even if they dont know the facts.

I definetly used to handle things alot better when i was younger. I get stressed out way more easily now.
Reply:some people say that because they think that young single moms arent emotionally stable enough to handle a child but the truth is some older single moms arent ready either
Reply:What do you mean of young

Young as a high school student, or younger

Because, they have no job, no insurance, and they are still growing up

Young as someone in their 20's

Depend

Some are very responsible, and cope very well

Some are not

Older women, Some cope will, some does not

A lot of single mom's have the child father in their life. Two parents are the best

I am only parent, I been having a hard time since my husband died.
Reply:Neither is ideal!!
Reply:i think its just a misconception people have about younger single mums. no matter what age you are as long as you are doing a good job, that's the main thing. a cousin of mine had her child at 15 now she is a qualified midwife, she did that single handed.
Reply:Usually older moms are better established and can better afford a child on their own.
Reply:I Don't know but I think it is possible. And with people being so judge mental on that situation it's no wonder a lot of single mom's have a hard time leaving abusive partners, cheating partners.People should support single mom's more.
Reply:neither is the best option but it all depends on the person if they are mature and responsible then young single mum but i no it sounds bad but and old single mum might not be around for longer enough and the child wont have grand parents either
Reply:they prob think if u older u prob wiser, not always true...ul either cope r not watever ur age
