Are there no drawbacks to being single?

I am a single, straight, 28 year old male. I have always been single and intend to stay single for the rest of my life. I never had a girlfriend, not have I even experienced my first kiss. I am very much attracted to females and females only, but I believe they would just complicate my life. I truly believe ignorance is bliss when it comes to the benefits of relationships. Another reason for my choice to remain single is the need for this "experiment". People told me I would not be able to resist seeking a mate when I was in high school and later in college. So far I have proven them all wrong. It's kind of an interesting perspective I have on life, plus it's really fun to see the expression on peoples' face when they learn of my never being in a relationship...it's almost as if they are jealous...almost as if I have stumbled upon the key to happiness and the simple life! I can't see any negatives associated with being single. What do you think?

Are there no drawbacks to being single?
It depends on who you are. If you're a loner, then there are no real drawbacks, especially since you can always turn to the internet if you have any problems that need advice. That's why Yahoo answers exists! Heh! But, beyond that, well, I honestly can't think of any. Don't fall for the scare tactics of "Oh noes! You're more likely to be killed or die from a preventable death!" Or some such nonsense. All that comes from people who can't stand being alone and expect others to be like them. Live your life how you please!

I'm around your age and I've been single all my life. It's much better than having to consider someone else!
Reply:Whatever makes you happy

Good luck
Reply:well, we can't tell for certain if you've ever experienced any women love.- you could be single but still have hooked up with women.

drawbacks include no physical gratification from another person, the whole feeling of love and of being wanted

those both outweigh being single by a lottt.

if its ladies that have that expression when you tell him, it may mean something like "i want to be his first girlfriend" instead of jealousy
