Single weave or double weave Judo Gi?

What does it mean single or double weave gi?

What is better a single or double weave Gi?

Single weave or double weave Judo Gi?
Single Weave gis are cheaper and lighter, but they are easier to grip.

Double Weaves are more expensive and heavier, and they can be slightly uncomfortable if they don't fit right, but they are much better if you plan on competing because it is harder for your opponent to get a good grip.

I use Single Weave gis for practice and a Double Weave gi when I go to tournaments to compete.
Reply:if you get a double weave it will be significantly heavier and stronger but if you get a single weave then you also get the benefit of having a lighter Gi.
Reply:Lazy 100% right

However also remember Lazy in some Judo Tournys Your only allowed One Gi and the Single Weave can Rip in tournys becasue of the gripping and pulling it gets on it. In thoses tournys(such as the Judo World Championships)if your Gi Rips your out of the tourny.

Thats makes the Double Weave that much more important(and yes that does happen)
Reply:Single weave. The double weaves are too thick and uncomfortable. The double weaves also make it harder for your opponent to grip you.

I don't think double weave is in the spirit of judo. I would rather win based on good judo instead of making it hard for someone to grip by a thicker gi.
