Single? how long does it bother you or your family and friends more?

I have been single going on 5 years a date here and there but no relationship, my family and friends seem to have more a problem with it then I do, I single mom and I concentrate on us and my job, I know I will find someone when I am ready and meet the right person so why all the pressure? Do your fam and friends do this to you. Make stupid comments about being lonley and desperate, cause I not either but they sure seem to think it.

just stand your ground! these people are probably miserable and envy your freedom. or their jealous. we've been conditioned by the liberal run media that if a woman isn't married with a "career" and kids by thirty she's somehow failed an obligation.after that they get the cred of being a divorced single mom struggling through life in a man's world so these women are probably resentful as hell you have all the perks and freedom while being single and childless. how dare you??:-) you can't force being married! the portugese have a saying " better alone than with bad company". wise people.


also, look at all the money your saving! Just get rid of that plastic debt and stay debt free. find a good high paying mutual fund to invest in.

Reply:I've been single for about a year, and I love it.I'm in no rush, just having fun. My mom is always saying things like "So, met anyone lately?" She doesn't push it, but it gets annoying. My sisters do it too, and so do a few friends. My dad and brothers don't though, they don't really care:P
Reply:I know where your coming from. I am 24 years old and I am currently single and its a big fuss, especially around the holidays. They ask me why am I single, why dont I have kids, Im not getting younger. I like to support a family and be 100 % stable before I make those actions yet its something they dont seem to understand because of there past moves or there kids moves.
Reply:It depends how old you are. Some people in their twenties and early thirties dont realize how limited their options become the older they get. They are probably trying to push you before you lose your looks.

Reply:i am single too, but never been in a relationship nor date, ever!, and am 19 yrs old, and i dont like it, but about you, i think ur family acts that way because they think that at certain age u should be marry or in a relationship, it seems to be a must, specially if single mom, my advice would be to enjoy this time when u r single and wait for the right man, they say it's worthy if @ the end u find the perfect match for you, good luck, and by the way, happy holidays!

Reply:My dad is always thinking that my next boyfriend is around the corner, so it's not really the fact that I'm single that gets him, it's the fact that I've had a boyfriend for about 2 straight years. My ex was somewhere else....ISS I think, and this other boy asked me out and I said yes. I had planned on breaking up with my ex any way. I broke up with the other boy about 3 days ago...and my dad thinks that I'm going to find another boy really soon.
Reply:Wow, you're like the exact opposite of me. I can't get a gf if my life depended on it... oh wait it does. And it seems to bother me way more than anyone else. My family and friends keep bringing it up and every time they do it pisses me off so much I want to go postal on all of them. I have this one cousin, who honestly tries to be nice but comes off as a total *****. I see her maybe once a year and when I do most of my family is around and everyone is asking me how I've been... and shes always the one that has to ask if I have a gf yet... its like gee thanks for bringing that up because you know if I did I would probably forget to bring it up, but since I don't THANKS FOR RUBING IT IN!!! and making me feel stupid around my family now excuse me while I go to the bathroom and CUT MY F**KING WRISTS!!!!

Reply:I know how you feel. People have made me feel really bad about being single. They have put me in embarassing situations with trying to tell me to go on dates with people. It really makes me feel bad. It is none of their business and they should stay out of it.
Reply:If it doesn't worry you, just tell them that you don't have a problem with it so they don't have to worry about you.
Reply:I've only been divorced for 6 months and I get it from some of my family. Don't let it bother you and do things at the pace you need to. Life is to short to worry about what others think you should be doing. make yourself and your child happy. Anything else will happen when it's time.
