Is it true that when you only have a single parent u are more sensitive and in touch with your feelings??
just wonderin cuz i read it in a article and my moms a single parent
Single Parent?
I think so, you have more self time to develop emotions since your not being so focused on 5 different people.
Reply:If you love and respect your mom but at the same time you are scared of her, she is doing a great job raising you.
Reply:I don't see how that could be.
My mother wasn't a "single mom", but she was a widow, and this caused us to have to grow up faster than we might have, otherwise.
The additional responsibilities we had to take on eventually gave us confidence and self-esteem. I don't think it made us more "sensitive", but it certainly made us tougher.
Reply:Not sure. I know that as a single mom I've had to be very aware of my feelings and the feelings of my children. But I don't know if that's something innate that happens to all single parents.
Reply:being in a single parent enviroment challeneges a person to deal with many issues.
I admire many single parent families, i am also bringing up sons up alone one of which is adopted, if my sons can look at the world through a *sensitive* side i will be proud, If they learn to understand that the world is not just Black and White, and i can teach them about the *grey* areas then i know i have nutured them to the best of my abiltiy.
If they learn not everyone has EVERYTHING as society dictates i will be proud of them.
Reply:I rarely have time to focus on myself while having to do the washing the cleaning the cooking and running the kids about. Would I change it. Not for anything in the world. I will get back to you when the kids are teenagers LOL
